Description
Radiant RPCF Series Fluorescent Plastic Colorants
Radiant RPCF Series is a range of daylight and UV fluorescent plastic colorants specifically developed for food-contact plastic applications. The pigments are based on a thermoplastic polyamide-ester resin and are designed for plastics used in both single-use and repeated-use food-contact applications.
Key Technical Features (Radiant RPCF Series)
- Form: Powder
- Particle Size: 8–16 µm / <15 µm
- Melting Point: 125–150°C
- Specific Gravity: 1.20 g/ml
- Bulking Value: 0.30–0.40 g/ml
- Minimum Processing Temperature: 170°C
- Food Contact: EU & FDA compliant under specified conditions
- Standard Shades: Chartreuse, Orange Red, Magenta
Food-Contact Applications
RPCF Series is designed for LDPE, HDPE and PP plastic articles intended for contact with all food types, subject to the specified regulatory conditions and concentration limits. Under the documented EU conditions, up to 1% RPCF can be used in LDPE, HDPE and PP articles up to 0.25 cm thickness. FDA conditions cover specified HDPE and PP applications for room-temperature, refrigerated and frozen storage without thermal treatment in the container.
Processing
A minimum processing temperature of 170°C is required to melt the polymer carrier and distribute the pigment uniformly through the plastic. Temperature exposure should be kept as low as practical to minimize its effect on fluorescent properties.
Packaging & Storage
Available in 20 kg boxes with a 20 kg MOQ. The stated shelf life is 120 months when stored in the closed original packaging in a dry place at ambient temperature.
